Background

The NZX 10 Index (the index SmartTENZ tracks) is an index of the 10 largest and most frequently traded New Zealand companies listed on the NZSX Market. From time to time, the composition of the NZX 10 Index may change. As SmartTENZ mirror the NZX 10 Index it is re-balanced to match this, so you always have a portfolio of the top 10 companies by market capitalisation listed on the NZSX Market.

SmartTENZ is heavily invested in the media and communications sectors through its holdings in Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Ltd, Sky Network Television Ltd and Independent Newspapers Ltd (as at 30 June 2004).
